"...this book needs to be far spread and well read..."
"If you are a human being on this earth and are in contact with even just one other human being, ever, you must read this book. Marianna has captured the most crucial aspects about the grieving process that, unfortunately, are sorely missing in our culture and our human relationships today. Time and again, in my work as a spiritual counselor or in my day to day life as a friend, daughter, sister, or wife, I hear heartbreaking stories of those in grief not being supported in the essential ways they need. Personally, I was so grateful and relieved to have a copy of "Being There " for each of my family members when one of my sister's husband died. They were grateful too; all six of them! Each one expressed how helpful this book was for them. In my opinion, this book needs to be far spread and well read to help alleviate some of the unneccesary suffering that happens with such a natural process as grieving."

"...fiercely and compassionately restores us..."
Accessible, soulful, and timeless, Being There for Someone in Grief is like a prism through which our intense feelings of loss are refracted into rays of courage, resourcefulness, acceptance, and hope.
Marianna Cacciatore masterfully braids her own life-changing story with those of individuals and families who have lost and struggled to find their way through. She invites us in for tea, and in this intimate setting, models how learning and practicing the art of being present with one another, fiercely and compassionately, restores us.

"...transform the experience into becoming active healers..."
Your book taught me how all of us who have had to heal from loss now need to take the pain and transform the experience into becoming active healers as we lend our presence, our hearts, our ears more and our mouths less, as we encounter the losses of our loved ones. Your book models this; your life reflects it. For that, let me join the chorus and add my thank you !

"...I feel I learned more...about how to truly be with someone in their pain than I did in grad school."
I was blown away by your book. I love it and know I will refer back to it MANY times. I feel I learned more in that book, about how to truly be with someone in their pain, than I did in grad school.

"...an asset in our library."
Members of our support group, the Victims of Homicide, have recently read your wonderful book, Being There, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We have had the group going for almost sixteen years now, and are unique in our province of Alberta. We have built an extensive library of grief and bereavement books, but we've never had one that was intended for family and supporters of the victims and their loved ones. We have all had children or loved ones murdered, and your book is so inclusive of the pain we've all gone through, and it is an asset in our library. Thank you for writing it.
